Church and Visitors

I came across a statistic on churches this week that was pretty interesting.

“85% of churches retain 10% or less of their visitors.”

Seems pretty crazy… that means that only 15% of churches connect more than 1 in 10 visitors!!

Now I’m sure that some of that is because a lot of people aren’t really looking to get connected to a community, but I’m wondering how much of that statistic is simply because churches do a horrible job of getting new people connected relationally.

I don’t necessarily have any great thoughts on the matter, but the statistic really hit a button and I’ve been pondering it and praying about it for several days.

It seems like churches should be doing a better job with relationships and community.
