I had coffee today with a new church planter friend of mine, Brent Hofen. Brent is out from Minnesota to plant a new work in Bend, Oregon.
He is creative, strong, and has a clear vision.
This is what I love about church planting… it raises the bar!
My hope and prayer are that as Brent reaches new people for Christ he will also cause other churches to rethink, revamp and recreate the way they practice community as Christians.
This doesn’t actually have anything to do with your post, but have you seen Pan’s Labyrinth yet? I ask because you post about films you’ve seen fairly often, and I don’t remember seeing this one on your blog. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this movie.

Since we live in a society where the individual, and thus the individual experience, is exalted, may I ask how you would define “community” and what it should look like in the church? Thanks. : )
I had the pleasure of working closely with Pastor Brent in Minnesota before he left. This man in awesome and I have absolutely no doubt that he is going to be doing some very amazing things in the name of Christ in the near future. He is extremely intelligent, wise and creative. He is a hard worker, a man of integrity and man of honor. He will do whatever it takes to reach the lost! Go, fight, win!!!
