This week Antioch celebrated our 7th Anniversary.
C.S. Lewis once said that of all the bad men in the world, religious bad men are the worst. It’s true churches can hurt people. It’s true that religious abuse happens. Therefore, it’s a tough thing to be a church and represent Christ, but we humbly exist because we want to help redeem the local church to the beautiful expression Christ intended it to be. We may have inadvertently hurt some of the very people we were called to love, but our desire has always been to get out of the way and help people come to know the grace, joy and rest found in Jesus.
I don’t love the church because I’m a pastor; rather, I’m a pastor because I love the local church.
Here’s looking forward to seeing what God can do over another seven years!!
