Convergence

Convergence

It’s easy to see things when there is convergence. I love looking for it when I’m trying to discern what God is up to. When multiple different strands all come together or point in the same direction it is at least worth looking at and praying about.

The same thing also shows up when lots of different people begin to sense the same calling in a person’s life (maybe a little like the New Testament concept of having the leaders put their hands on someone and commission them in prayer — there is a convergence of vision, agreement and opinion).

Anyway, I’ve got a friend that I believe is “called” to write… I mean he is super gifted and in a way that can’t be taught at school. This kind of gift is God-given.

The neat convergence that I saw today came from a random e-mail from an intellectual friend of mine. This person had been reading my other friend’s blog and e-mailed to say how wonderful a writer she thought he is. She then asked me if my other friend ever plans to write a book.

Convergence (or the beginning of convergence)!! It’s fun to think how God might work through the writing and talent of my friend.

It’s also fun to think of all the possibilities and all the convergence that we’ll get to see over the years.
