Next Sunday night is the kickoff for Kilns College. There’ll be a BBQ, live music and (most excitingly!) a special guest lecture by Jonathan Martin.
Jonathan oversees the Global Outreach Ministry at Good Shepherd Community Church in Boring, Oregon where many staff from their Church have been sent out and are presently living and serving in nearly 20 countries on every continent around the world. Nearly 800 from the congregation have also been sent on short term teams. Before coming to Good Shepherd, Jonathan and his family lived and ministered in Asia.
Jonathan just has finished a book “Giving Wisely?” which challenges the church “to understand the the negative impact so much of our money is having all around the world – and how to step up to make a real and lasting difference.”
Jonathan loves backpacking, mountain biking, skiing and anything that gets him outdoors and away from the noise. He majored in English and History and received his Masters from the International School of Theology. He has taught English and English Literature for 15 years in foreign universities.
