Leading our Leaders

Ever feel like your church is missing something important? What do you do? No one wants to be a complainer, but you don’t want to ignore the problem either. How do you get involved? How do you become the solution?

I love this Redux video from Abraham George about encouraging your church to care about justice. In it he says that the best way for us to lead in our churches is simply “surrendering yourself to what God has called you to.”

Too often we become prideful when we see that our churches or leaders are missing something that we understand. We turn the conversation into an “us vs. them” equation and become highly investing in winning the argument or being right. Instead we should always approach each other with humility and the awareness that we are all imperfect and need grace.

“Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” – Ephesians 4:15
