C.S. Lewis has a great introduction to Athanasius’s “On the Incarnation” that makes me want to read more. He writes the following:
Every age has its own outlook. It is specially good at seeing certain truths and specially liable to make certain mistakes. We all, therefore, need the books that will correct the characteristic mistakes of our own period. And that means the old books.
You read way too much C.S. Lewis :)
That is such an important truth! I wish that, as a society, we took more time to learn from those who have gone before us.
I heard your vision talk for Kilns College and was so excited for the direction you are taking it. I fully believe that Kilns College is going to make a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals. It is so refreshing to see a foundation being laid that is based on the kind of stuff that will not erode–truth, wisdom and the example of Jesus Christ.
