One of the things we decided when we started Redux – the new service at Antioch – was to always have something meaningful to strive for together.
Church services really run the risk of being too entertainment driven and passive. Having a common goal, however, allows us to actively do good as a result of meeting together.
How cool is it to see people’s needs being met simply because we’re getting together as a community!!
Anyway, right now we are in the middle of a Powerbar drive. We’re contributing them to the Bend Homeless Count that is taking place later on this month. (Next month we’ll start all over with a new ministry opportunity.) Who knows, this could actually be fun!!
After one week we’re already up to 237!!
