Prayer Prison

Small group for married couple

Tamara started a small group tonight for married women on the topic of prayer. She’s super excited and it’s fun to watch her passion.

One of the questions she asked the ladies tonight was this: Try to imagine something about prayer that doesn’t have anything to do with what you’ve heard, seen or experienced.

It shows that in a lot of ways we’re in a prayer prison. We are caught up in repeating what has been. The kicker, however, is that if prayer is a dialogue and relationship with God it ought to be able to become personalized, unique, fresh and exciting. Not something crazy or unbiblical… simply something real and authentic – the way each of our relationships with other people is unique and has its own fingerprints.

It’ll be fun to watch as these women read and study the classics on prayer. It’ll be even more fun to watch as they encounter a God who wants to be found!! (Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4_8)
