Quantity Time

I once had a mentor tell me that shooting for “quality time” with people was misplaced.

He argued that you can never necessarily plan for or determine what time will actually be “quality” and produce long lasting memories.

Rather, he said, plan for “quantity time.” Somewhere in the middle of lots of time you will usually find meaningful time — quantity time usually leads to quality time.

We’ve been on vacation for the last week and a half, and I think my mentor was right about quantity time.

Anyway, here are some of the memories grouped by occurance:

1 – Number of celebrity sightings (David Spade)
2 – Cases of “Pink Eye” in the family
3 – Number of hours sitting through the stupid Time Share sales pitch in San Diego
4 – Trips to In N’ Out Burger
5 – Number of women in my house come October (the new baby is evidently going to be our 4th girl)
6 – 106 degrees… how hot it got the first week!!
1,000,000 – Bathroom stops on the way to California and back
