So in the last week I think we’ve brought meals to three different families who have had new babies.

In addition to breaking the budget, we’ve begun to realize that it is a great discipleship opportunity. Showing up at someone’s house with food was strange enough to draw questions from the girls… and the last two times we’ve been smart enough to let them in on the gig.

It’s pretty cool for the girls to be a part of tangibly helping people who are tired and need encouragement.

They’re starting to get the whole “joy in giving” thing — now we just need to get them to stop fighting over who gets to carry the food or go to the door etc.

It’s funny how small things like meals provide the teaching moments in life.
