Summer Swamp is here!! Antioch’s summer kids program kicked off this morning at Blakely Park in Bend. Caitlin, one of our summer interns, has done an amazing job getting everything set up and organized… so much so, that we’re all pestering her about moving to Bend when she graduates at the end of this school

I’ve been out of the blogosphere for a bit while taking a guy trip. I went with some friends (Kyle Beall, Gary Christenson and Brandon Groza) to camp and raft the North Umpqua. It was a solid time all around and left us with some pretty stellar memories… like the hilarious one of Brandon hitching
A little Wytsma family milestone… Spurred on by their desire to get some necklaces that Kim Hunt made for them, for the first time Mary Joy wrote out her numbers from 1 to 100 and Esther wrote out her ABC’s!!! I’m pretty proud of my two little valedictorians!!
Every once in a while I get asked whether we do “altar calls” or lead people in what is called “sinners prayers.” The truth is, I believe that baptism is the New Testament picture of making or expressing a commitment to follow Christ. It is a marriage of confession and action… declaring where you stand
There are already 8 people signed up for our Baptism in the Deschutes coming up on August 12th!! I think we may have as many as 15 to 20 adults getting baptized on the 12th!! It’s pretty easy to say… this is the kind of thing I’m in ministry for :)
