Last night the girls wanted me to read them a book as part of our bedtime routine. The book was called, “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible , No Good, Very Bad Day.” It was 100% negative (although funny). The Wytsma’s are headed out to Portland today so that I can get the shots I need to go to Uganda… and we’re staying through tomorrow so that we can take the girls to the zoo!! I’m really excited about a little family trip before Mary Joy starts school in two weeks (yikes!!)

We’ve been working on a little experiment in the Wytsma home by putting Sara in with her two sisters in their bedroom – all three girls together. There’s been a lot more playing than sleeping the last two nights!! Sara is on cloud 9 and reminds me of the kids that would never go to

A little Wytsma family milestone… Spurred on by their desire to get some necklaces that Kim Hunt made for them, for the first time Mary Joy wrote out her numbers from 1 to 100 and Esther wrote out her ABC’s!!! I’m pretty proud of my two little valedictorians!!
My parents arrive tonight at 8:00 p.m. for good… After three years of planning and shutting things down in Virginia, they are finally retiring to Bend, Oregon. I can’t wait for the girls to have their grandparents near. (And I’m thinking Tamara and I might get a little babysitting out of the deal too :)

So today is Tamara and my 7th Anniversary. It’s always funny to remember how quickly we fell in love and got married… we met August 22, started dating September 22, got engaged October 22 and then were married January 15 (I really wanted it to be a week later to keep the whole “22” thing
I normally don’t like when people always talk about their families or use them too often as illustrations, but today I figure I’ll break the rules and say that I think I’ve got the greatest wife a guy could have :) She helps me a lot in every way and supports me in every case.
