On Truth
One of my favorite philosophers is the Danish philosopher, Soren Kierkegaard.
This Sunday I’m teaching on TRUTH. It’ll be the first time in a long time I’ve tried to speak simply to what truth is, why it matters and what that looks like in our lives. It’ll probably be a lot different than what people would think when they hear there’ll be a sermon on truth.
I’ve read Psalm 34 today a few times through. Been loving it and the theology in it. Check it out – Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. 9 Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. 10 The
2 Corinthians chapter 3 verse 2 reads, “You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody.” It’s a letter from Paul to the Corinthian people where he states with confidence that the people themselves – changed lives – are the fruit of his ministry and the letter of commendation for

I was in Barnes and Noble today and my head nearly spun at how many books are out right now on the so called “lost gospels.” In short, ever since the discovery of the Nag Hammadi Library (a collection of gnostic texts including The Gospel of Thomas) there has been a movement to minimize the
Last night my wife and I watched the movie “Akeelah and the Bee.” I loved it! It is the story of an 11 year old girl from the inner city who has a remarkable talent for memorizing words. With the encouragement of her school and with the help of an English Professor she is able
Usually, the most challenging thing about personal bible study for me is finding solitude. Finding enough time free of distraction and stress to sit down and let the scriptures become first desirable, then available, and finally transforming. Surgeries are scheduled and anesthesia is given in doses to insure that a patient will remain in place
