We had a half day staff prayer retreat out in Sisters this morning. It was primarily focused on solitude and I could have stayed out there all day and not minded. For me, there’s nothing more restorative outside of sleep than solitude (and maybe movies!)
Usually, the most challenging thing about personal bible study for me is finding solitude. Finding enough time free of distraction and stress to sit down and let the scriptures become first desirable, then available, and finally transforming. Surgeries are scheduled and anesthesia is given in doses to insure that a patient will remain in place
